Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- Chicago Style guide, 17th edition applied (British English spelling)
- contribution is not published elsewhere
- contribution is exclusively submitted to ATJ for consideration of publication
- contribution is free from plagiarism
- only footnotes are used (no in-text citation or endnotes)
- tables and figures have been numbered and labeled
- biographical note submitted
- abstract is added to articles
- 4-6 keywords identified
- bibliography (CMOS, 17th edition) is included in articles
- Competing interests declaration added
- Permission obtained to publish photos, datasets, and other materials included in the contribution
- if confidential data is processed (e.g., interview transcripts) a data security protocol is followed
- I am aware that I will need to rework an article draft at least twice according to peer review comments

Privacy Statement for Africa Theological Journal (ATJ)
ATJ is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Statement explains what information we collect from users and how we use that information.

We collect personal information when you register as an author or reviewer, or when you submit a manuscript for publication. The information we collect may include your name, email address, affiliation, and other relevant details.
2. Purpose of Data Collection
We collect personal information to facilitate the publication process, to communicate with authors and reviewers. We may also use the information to send promotional or marketing materials related to our journal (e.g., call for articles).
3. Data Storage and Protection
We store user data securely on our servers and take reasonable steps to protect user data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
4. Data Sharing
We may share user data with third-party service providers who assist us in the publication process, such as hosting providers or editorial management software providers. We do not sell or rent user data to third parties.
5. User Rights
Users have the right to access, correct, or delete their personal data. Users may also object to the processing of their personal data, request restrictions on the processing of their data, or withdraw their consent for the processing of their data.
6. Changes to the Privacy Statement
We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time to reflect changes in our information practices.
