AABNER is committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency and integrity. All potential conflicts of interest, financial, personal, or professional, must be disclosed by both authors and editors to ensure unbiased evaluation and publication of research.

Conflicts of Interest for Authors

  1. Declaration: Authors must declare any potential conflicts of interest at the time of submission. This includes financial relationships; personal relationships that could influence interpretation; academic or professional affiliations that could create bias.
  2. Where to Declare: Conflicts are disclosed in a dedicated section of the manuscript. If there are no conflicts, authors must explicitly state: “The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”
  3. Management: The Editor-in-Chief reviews declared conflicts. If a conflict could influence editorial decisions, additional steps are taken (e.g., assigning an independent editor or reviewer).

Conflicts of Interest for Editors

Editors must also disclose any potential conflicts with manuscripts they handle. When a conflict exists (e.g., personal, financial, institutional relationship with authors), the Editor recuses themselves from handling the manuscript and assigns the manuscript to another editor without conflicts.

Management of Conflicts

All conflicts are evaluated case by case and the journal may assign independent editors or reviewers, request additional declarations or clarifications from authors or publish the declared conflicts alongside the article for transparency

Failure to disclose conflicts may result in withdrawal or rejection of the manuscript or publication of a correction or note if discovered post-publication.
